Ilkley Grammar School has a strong student voice to help influence key decisions in and around the school. Each tutor group elects two representatives who attend meetings of the year group council to discuss topical issues; the year group council then nominates two students to represent it on the School Council.
Mr Jennings, Assistant Headteacher attends all meetings of the School Council in an advisory capacity but the council sets its own agenda - it is a student run body. This year the council has a particular focus on sustainability, for this reason we have been looking in depth at how IGS can become a greener school. We invite suggestions on this topic or any other which can be placed in the box outside Mr Jennings' office in the KS3 Pastoral Hub.
