For information and advice about careers and post-16 options you can attend a Connexions drop-in session with Martin Greenwood, the personal adviser at Ilkley Grammar School. Drop-in sessions are held in C4 on Thursdays and Fridays, 12 - 1pm.
The Connexions Resource Centre is based in the Upper Library. There are lots of books and magazines about different jobs and careers; writing CVs, application forms and letters; and what you can do with various qualifications. You will also find leaflets giving advice on the law, your rights and citizenship; work and training; health; relationships; travel and transport; housing; money; choices; free time; and education.
A large selection of College and University prospectuses, and guides to volunteering, travelling and taking a gap-year are also available.
The library has lots of new careers books, both general guides and titles covering specific jobs and careers; most of the titles can be borrowed, so come and take a look in the Careers area of the library.
